RECE Y JUN OF)
Hong-Kong, 6th. May, 1898.
nclosure 5th May, 1898, In duplicate
Sir,
I have the honour to forward a letter from
the Hong-Kong General Chamber of Commerce on the extension
of the boundaries of the Colony which they beg me to trans-
mit to you.
I may add that I declined to forward a tele-
gram from this body on the same subject on the grounds that
it set forth nothing new and that all the facts of the case
were before the Imperial Government as also the views of the
Naval and Military Authorities and of the citizens of Hong-
Kong.
The Right Honourable
Joseph Chamberlain M. P.
